Abstract

This article reviews the most important modern studies conducted by both Russian and Chinese scholars on the history of Russian philosophy of language. Different aspects dealt with the study of Russian philosophy of language are analyzed in the article: topics, methodology, the form of presentation of research results, etc. The authors gather statistics and use quantitative methods to systematize works on the history of Russian philosophy of language and identify those issues and problem areas that most often come to the attention of researchers, as well as those that still remain understudied. The conclusion is made that a proper comprehensive study of the history of Russian philosophy of language should combine three main components: the definition of "paradigmatic perspective" (the starting point of research), the establishment of "historical facts" (the content of research) and scientific criticism of the "historical significance" of Russian linguophilosophical concepts (the purpose of research). The authors insist that only as a result of such a comprehensive, systematic and multi-dimensional study of the history of Russian philosophy of language, conducted both in the context of clarifying its specificity and in the global context, it is possible to reveal a complete, rather than fragmentary, picture of the entire history of Russian philosophy of language and show its scientific and heuristic significance in the "dimension of time".
