V.I. Lamansky and his students
Abstract
This article deals with the specifics of the creation and development of the academic school of V.I. Lamansky. An attempt has been made to identify the foundations on which the academic community was based. Among the main criteria the similarity of outlook and ideological attitudes is singled out. Both scientific publications and memoirs are used in the proposed work. Lamansky is revealed as an attentive and reverent pedagogue, whose communication with his students extended far beyond the university classroom. Human qualities were combined with the outstanding pedagogical abilities and brilliant mind of the visionary thinker. Some people were charmed and attracted by Vladimir Ivanovich's kindness, while others were sympathetic to his generalizing view of Slavic history and culture. In the work presented, the "scientific school" Lamansky is not presented in terms of a professional group, but is seen as a "family" that developed at the university. As a background subject, the influence of V.I. Lamansky on the intellectual culture of the Slavic world is stipulated. V.I. Lamansky's students proved themselves not only as outstanding scientists, but also as talented political figures. There was continuity in the "scientific school" of Lamansky, which educated more than one generation of Russian Slavic scholars. Laman's influence was decisive in shaping the scientific path of many of his students. His complex approach to the educational process, as well as his inclination to communicate intellectually with the most prominent representatives of Slavic culture of the second half of the 19th century, inspired young researchers. The article reviews the academic interests of I. S. Palmov, V. P. Semyonov-Tyan-Shansky, and K. Ya. The breadth of V. I. Lamansky's views allowed his "followers" to find themselves in very different areas: church history of the Slavs, geography, and Slavistics.
