An analysis of the history of thirty-year research on S.L. Frank’s philosophy in the Post-Soviet cultural space
Abstract
The author of the article is trying to prove that it is correct and necessary to use the term "frankology" to indicate the tradition of historical and philosophical study of the creative heritage of Semyon L. Frank, which has been formed during the last 30 years in Russia and other countries. It is stated that frankology seems to meet the main criteria of science. The peculiarities of frankology as a historical-philosophical science are analyzed; the process of source study formation and introduction into science is described, as well as heuristic models of conceptual comprehension both of separate periods of Frank's philosophy development and the essence of his philosophy itself. Since the degree of emancipation and progress of science are directly related to the scientific methodology used by the researchers, special attention in the article is paid to the methodological approaches to the analysis of the creative heritage of the Russian philosopher. It is shown that at present frankology is presented as a corpus of interconnected and mutually supplementing research works in which general themes and tasks are elaborated and critical reflection of the achieved results and proposed scientific hypotheses is carried out. It is noted that the formation of frankology as a science was facilitated by the fact tat in the post-Soviet historical and philosophical community there emerged a number of effectively working research "unions", aimed mainly at the study of Frank's philosophy. It is concluded that at present there is a second wave of research interest in Frank's philosophy, which is likely to be more professional and specialized. It will discover a new resource of Frank's philosophy, which will contribute to the development of frankology.
