Abstract

This collection of congratulations is dedicated to the anniversary of the famous Russian scientist, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor Mikhail Viktorovich Maksimov. It is emphasized that M.V. Maksimov’s contribution to the study of the history of Russian philosophy, especially the creative heritage of Vladimir S. Solovyov, as well as to the publication of his works, is of great importance. It is noted that the journal Solovyovskie Issledovaniya (Solovyov Studies) founded and edited by M.V. Maksimov has become one of the world’s leading journals on the history of Russian philosophy. A special role in the philosophical life of contemporary Russia belongs to the “Solovyov Seminars”, which are regularly organised large-scale international conferences inspired and directed by M.V. Maksimov. Due to the journal and the “Solovyov Seminars”, the city of Ivanovo, where the jubilee works, has become one of the main centres for the study of V.S. Solovyov’s philosophy and Russian philosophy in general. The congratulations note Mikhail Viktorovich's personal qualities, which have allowed him for more than two decades to be fruitfully engaged both in publishing the journal and in organising international conferences.
